May 4th event was a resounding success! We are pleased to report that the first ever CSW Booth at the 34th Annual Endangered Species Faire on Saturday, May 4th was a resounding success. If you missed it you can go on a virtual tour via our new website's photo gallery. Marla and Bill made several large, colorful information panels and posters which lined the inside walls of the booth. Out in front and overhead was a large STOP sign reading: Look up! STOP Aerosol Spraying. Above that was a model jet plane spewing out pipe cleaner SSAGtrails. Front and foremost was a large poster that highlighted and mirrors the front of our new informational tri-fold flyer. We handed out a few hundred of our new tri-fold flyers, sold DVDs and T-shirts, collected (a meager) $85 in donations, and engaged in many conversations with Faire-goers. We were surprised to note that even in this group of environmentally-minded people, many were unaware of the nature of the spraying going on right over their heads. We also found that there were many already up to speed. All in all it was a beautiful day (not a 'chemtrail' in sight!) and our presence there was graciously and happily received. As we wrote about aerosol spraying on one of our panels: "...it is of the utmost importance that we all work together to find a resolution and demand our voices be heard. Working together we can accomplish this goal." A BIG thanks to these people for setting up, tearing down, and "manning" the booth: Robert Donnelly, Kelby Gardiner, Carl Schultz, Davin Finn, Betty Credit, Nina Widlund, and Scott Murphy. And thanks to BEC (Butte Environmental Council) and Kevin Killion for supporting CSW with a booth-presence at the faire. A special thank you to the few who donated money toward this expensive enterprise, including Nina Widlund, who championed the new flyers and paid for almost half of their cost, Bill Donnelly, who donated money and mostly time and energy, and especially Marla Crites, who donated not only time and energy, but covered most of the $800 cost with her own funds. Note that, although our current fund balance is about $125, we are still severely short on covering the cost of the booth and new flyers. Please help us by donating toward covering this cost. We rely on your support above all as people who have shown an active interest in fighting this attack on us and your desire to help to stop it. Thank you. We want to do more community outreach, but without funding, that is very difficult and sometimes impossible.
Stop by and take a look at
our new website,
which is coming together nicely.
