Monthly meeting for October is Tuesday 9th at 7:00 pm We still need your help handing out flyers and posting posters. The monthly meeting for October will be Tuesday, October 9, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, at the Chico Branch of the Butte County Library, located at 1108 Sherman Ave., at the corner of Sherman Ave. and E. 1st Ave. (map below) We will also be tabling again this Saturday (tomorrow) at the Farmer's Market with our flyers. No one helped last Saturday, so it was just Marla and Bill. But Joe H. donated $200 to the cause, which makes us $7.00 in the black. Joe has been a long-time supporter of CSW and other social justice issues. Thank you again, Joe! Paul Ellcessor and Betty Credit will be helping tomorrow. We could use some more help in addition to them. We will be there from 9:00 am to about 1:00 pm when the market closes. We need people throughout the morning to help. We have 100 posters to put up and 500 quarter-page flyers to hand out. We will be at the Farmer's Market for the next two Saturdays up to the time of the showing of the film. So we will need help on all of those Saturday mornings, and throughout the week at other locations. We need someone to put up posters at Chico State and Butte College. If we don't advertise the film, we may only get 25 attendees like last time, and possibly lose money. If it weren't for the product sales, we would have lost money — instead, we barely made any profit. The first time we showed WITWATS? it was sold out with standing room only, and the ticket sales for that, plus the product sales, and some large donations from a few supporters, are what gave us the several hundred dollars we used last year and this year to fund Chico Sky Watch. So PLEASE HELP as much as you can with passing out and putting up flyers and posters between now and October 20th. If you can't help with the flyers, then perhaps you can afford a monetary donation. We usually try to table on the north-western corner of the market / public parking lot across from US Bank, at the corner of E. 2nd St. and Wall St. Sometimes people get there before us and we have to move somewhere else. But we will always be on the periphery of the market on the sidewalk, so we shouldn't be difficult to find. Ideally, we need at least four (4) people to hand out flyers on all four corners of the public parking area where the market is based. Chico Sky Watch meetings are now held once a month, usually the second Tuesday of the month, a maximum of two hours in length, between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. The meeting location is the Chico Branch of the Butte County Library, located at 1108 Sherman Ave., at the corner of Sherman Ave. and E. 1st Ave. See map (click to see larger version).
